  • You are between 18 and 45 years old
  • Your body mass index (BMI, a measure of weight relative to height) is below 35
  • You do at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise per week (like brisk walking or light jogging)
  • You are generally healthy with no serious diseases like kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, or cancer
  • You can fast for 8 hours before your study visit and avoid vigorous exercise, caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco for 24 hours beforehand
  • You do not take creatine supplements, diuretics (water pills), or corticosteroids (steroid medications)
