Who can take part
- Age 18–80 years old
- Non-smoker, or quit smoking at least 5 years ago
- Generally good health, or have a stable chronic condition like controlled diabetes (blood sugar HbA1c below 7.0%)
- Need extraction and bone preservation for at least 2 single-rooted teeth that are not next to each other
- No active tooth or gum infections, and good daily tooth-brushing habits
- No history of cancer treatment (chemotherapy or head/neck radiation) or medications that weaken bone
