Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a lesion (abnormal growth or sore) in your upper throat or swallowing passage
  • Your endoscopy (camera exam) will be recorded on video
  • You will have a biopsy (tissue sample) taken, need clinical follow-up, or have a condition like Reinke's edema or laryngeal papillomatosis that doesn't require a biopsy
  • The lesion is not a submucosal lesion (a growth beneath the surface lining)
  • You have not had previous surgery or radiation therapy in your head and neck area
