  • You are between 70 and 85 years old
  • Your lung cancer is confirmed by biopsy and is stage IIA–IIIB (early-to-mid stage, not spread to distant organs)
  • Your doctors believe your cancer can be surgically removed with intent to cure
  • You have not received prior chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery for this cancer
  • Your heart, liver, kidneys, and bone marrow function are adequate to tolerate chemotherapy and surgery
  • You do not have active infections, autoimmune disease, or other serious health conditions that would make treatment unsafe
