Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a colonoscopy where the doctor will remove 1–3 polyps
  • Your polyps must be flat or slightly raised (not mushroom-shaped or larger)
  • Your polyps must be removed intact (in one piece, not fragmented)
  • You cannot have a history of colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, or inherited polyp syndromes
  • You must not have taken blood thinners like aspirin or warfarin within the past week
  • You must sign informed consent agreeing to participate
