Who can take part
- Age 18–75 years old
- Diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (stages III–IVB), confirmed by biopsy
- Your tumor can be surgically removed, as determined by a team of cancer specialists
- Good overall health (ECOG performance status 0–1: able to carry out daily activities)
- Blood counts, kidney function, and liver function are adequate for chemotherapy
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding; willing to use effective birth control during and for 6 months after treatment
