How Low Gravity Affects Physical Performance and Brain Function

Unilateral Lower Limb Suspension (Simulated Microgravity)

This research study simulates lunar gravity (about 1/6 of Earth's gravity) to understand how your body and brain adapt when gravity is reduced. You'll participate in activities designed to mimic lunar conditions, which could help scientists prepare for future space exploration and better understand how gravity affects human health.

Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 60 years old
  • Not be a heavy exerciser (moderate activity level at most)
  • Be generally healthy with no serious heart, lung, kidney, or metabolic conditions
  • Not be pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study
  • Not have had recent steroid treatments or hormone therapy in the past 6 months
  • Be able to safely undergo MRI scanning and exercise testing
