  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are admitted to an emergency intensive care unit (ICU)
  • Your expected ICU stay is longer than 48 hours
  • You do not have severe eye disease, eye injury, or recent eye surgery
  • You do not have nerve disorders affecting eye movement or pupil function
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
