Who can take part

  • You must be a current employee of the ALMA Observatory in Chile
  • You must live and work at one of two specific observatory sites (at 5,000 m or 2,950 m elevation)
  • You must have worked there for at least one year
  • You cannot have a pacemaker or metal implants in your body
  • You cannot be pregnant
  • You must be a permanent resident of the observatory area, not just temporarily stationed there
