  • You are scheduled to have laparoscopic fundoplication surgery (a minimally invasive procedure to treat acid reflux)
  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You are not pregnant
  • You do not have chronic pain conditions or a history of substance abuse
  • You are eligible for spinal anesthesia (numbing medication injected near the spine)
