Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with rectal cancer (a tumor in the rectum, the lowest part of the colon)
- You have already had surgery to remove the cancer, specifically a high anterior rectal resection (removal of the upper part of the rectum)
- You do not have an ostomy (a surgically created opening in your abdomen for bowel waste)
- You do not have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or other implanted electronic devices
- You do not have conditions that would prevent nerve stimulation, such as uncontrolled bleeding disorders, epilepsy, severe heart problems, or active cancer elsewhere
- You are not currently pregnant
