  • This is your first pregnancy (you have not given birth before)
  • You are at least 39 weeks pregnant
  • You are carrying one baby (not twins or multiples)
  • The baby is in head-down position and ready to be born
  • Your cervix is not yet favorable for labor (Bishop score less than 6)
