  • Not pregnant or nursing
  • No heart rhythm problems or serious medical conditions
  • Not taking prescription medications that could interact with amitriptyline
  • No history of abnormal scarring (like keloids) or slow wound healing
  • Able to avoid certain over-the-counter drugs and supplements for 2 weeks before and during the study
