Who can take part

  • Your child is between 5 and 18 years old
  • Your child has acute appendicitis (inflamed appendix) without signs of rupture or serious complications
  • Your child is in good health or has only mild health conditions that are well-controlled
  • You speak and read Turkish (or the hospital's main language) well enough to understand educational materials
  • Your child can have laparoscopic surgery (a minimally invasive approach) and you consent to it
  • Your child has not had major abdominal surgery before that would cause scar tissue (adhesions)
