Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with breast cancer confirmed by biopsy
  • You are receiving or will receive chemotherapy lasting at least 21 days between treatments, with at least 2 planned cycles
  • Your platelet count dropped below 50,000 in a previous chemo cycle, OR dropped to 50,000–75,000 with bleeding risk factors
  • Your platelet count is currently at least 100,000 at the time you join the study
  • Your liver, kidney, and bone marrow function are adequate (specific blood test results)
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or unwilling to use birth control during the study
