Who can take part
- You are between 50 and 80 years old
- You can speak and understand English
- You are scheduled for open surgery (not laparoscopic or robotic) for cancer in the stomach, pancreas, bile ducts, liver, or lining of the abdomen
- Your surgery is expected to last more than 3 hours
- You report pain level of 4 or higher on a 0-10 scale after surgery
