Who can take part
- You are a woman aged 18 or older.
- You are scheduled to have one breast removed (mastectomy) with general anesthesia.
- You are in generally good health (having other medical conditions is okay).
- You are not allergic to numbing medicines (local anesthetics).
- You do not take strong pain medicines (opioids) on a regular basis.
- You do not have a bleeding disorder, active infection, or problems with your liver or kidneys that are severe.
