Phone restriction and dopamine brain changes

This study looks at how restricting your mobile phone use affects a chemical in the brain called dopamine. Healthy iPhone users will have PET brain scans before and after limiting their phone time to see how it changes dopamine transporters.

Who can take part

  • You use an iPhone every day.
  • Your iPhone has the 'Screen Time' app and you can access it.
  • You do not have any mental health or brain disorder (like depression, anxiety, or Parkinson's).
  • You are not taking any medications for a mental health condition.
  • You can safely have a PET scan (no claustrophobia, not pregnant, no metal implants).
  • You can commit to the study for 4 weeks.
