Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 70 years old
- You have an ASA physical status of I or II (generally healthy or mild health issues)
- You are scheduled for elective (non-emergency) shoulder surgery
- You do not have lung disease or problems with your diaphragm
- You are not allergic to local anesthetics
- You do not have a bleeding disorder, infection near the injection site, or nerve damage in the arm being operated on
- You are not pregnant
