Who can take part

  • You are between 25 and 70 years old.
  • You need a catheter placed in the internal jugular vein (a large vein in your neck).
  • You are willing to cooperate during the procedure.
  • You do not have a history of neck surgery.
  • You have not had a catheter in this vein before.
  • You are not on hemodialysis (kidney dialysis) through a double-lumen catheter in the neck.
  • Your platelet count is at least 50,000 and your INR (blood clotting time) is within normal range.
