  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are being admitted to the hospital for a traumatic injury or for surgery (like joint, spine, abdominal, breast, vascular, or chest surgery).
  • You do not have a history of opioid use disorder or dependence.
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You are not in prison.
  • You can independently understand and agree to participate in the study.
