Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You have a diagnosis of liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma or intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma) or liver metastases (such as from colorectal cancer)
  • You are scheduled to have surgery to remove part of your liver (hepatectomy) with the goal of curing the disease
  • Your liver function is Child-Pugh class A or B, meaning your liver is working well enough for surgery
  • You can safely have an MRI scan (no implants that are not MRI-safe, no severe claustrophobia)
  • You are willing to sign a consent form and follow the study procedures
