Who can take part

  • Your baby must be born by cesarean section between 38 and 42 weeks of pregnancy.
  • You did not have high-risk pregnancy conditions like eclampsia, preeclampsia, or gestational diabetes.
  • Your baby's birth weight is between 2,500 grams (about 5.5 pounds) and 4,000 grams (about 8.8 pounds).
  • Your baby's Apgar score (a quick health check) is 7 or higher at 1 and 5 minutes after birth.
  • Your baby has no birth defects and does not need care in the neonatal intensive care unit right after birth.
