Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 8 and 18 years old.
  • Your child needs two separate stent placements as part of their standard kidney stone treatment.
  • The stent will stay in place for about 4 to 6 weeks each time.
  • Your child must be in good general health (classified as ASA I or II).
  • You and your child must be able to answer study questionnaires in English.
  • Your child cannot have an active urinary tract infection, significant bladder problems, or be allergic to the stent materials.
  • Only one kidney will be treated at a time (no bilateral stents).
