  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are scheduled to have a first-time hip or knee replacement
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is less than 30
  • You are a non-smoker or have quit smoking for at least 4 weeks
  • You can read and understand French
  • You are able to follow study instructions, including filling in a calendar
