Who can take part
- You must have a confirmed diagnosis of squamous non-small cell lung cancer that is stage IIIB, IIIC, or IV and cannot be cured with surgery or radiation.
- You must have at least one tumor that can be measured on a scan.
- You must be able to perform your daily activities with minimal help (ECOG performance status of 0 or 1).
- Your blood counts, kidney, liver, and blood clotting function must be within acceptable levels.
- If you are a woman who can become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test before starting the study.
- You must not have received any prior treatment for your advanced or metastatic lung cancer.
