Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You have early-stage cancer or high-grade precancerous changes in the esophagus, stomach, or colon
  • You are scheduled to have the lesion removed by endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD)
  • You have not had any prior treatment for this lesion
  • Your blood clotting is normal (platelets and INR) and you have stopped blood thinners like aspirin or clopidogrel for at least 5 days
  • You are in good overall health (American Society of Anesthesiologists grade I or II)
