School nurse program for early anxiety detection in children

Who can take part

  • Your child must be 8 to 12 years old and attend one of the four participating elementary schools.
  • In the past 6 weeks, your child must have had at least 3 nurse visits for physical symptoms like stomach aches, headaches, tiredness, or muscle aches, OR missed 10% or more of school days because of these symptoms.
  • You and your child must speak English without an interpreter.
  • Your child must not currently be receiving ongoing therapy, psychiatric medication, or case management for mental health.
  • Your child's symptoms should not be fully explained by a chronic condition like asthma, diabetes, or epilepsy.
  • Your child must not be in foster care or a ward of the state.
