Contact lenses for children with myopia in one eye

This study tests whether wearing a special type of contact lens (MiSight 1 Day) in the nearsighted eye can slow down worsening of nearsightedness in children who have it in only one eye. Children will wear the lens for 12 months and have regular check-ups.

Who can take part

  • Aged 7 to 18 years old
  • Nearsightedness (myopia) in one eye, with the other eye having normal or nearly normal vision
  • Astigmatism (blurred vision due to irregular eye shape) in the nearsighted eye no worse than 1.00 diopter
  • Best corrected vision in the nearsighted eye at least 20/25 (good vision with glasses or contacts)
  • Willing to wear the contact lens for at least 10 hours a day, 6 days a week
  • Commit to 12 months of follow-up visits, and a parent or guardian must sign a consent form
