Study comparing two ways to preserve donated kidneys

Kidney TransplantDCD Kidney

This trial compares two ways of preserving kidneys from donors after cardiac death before transplanting them into recipients. One method uses a machine that pumps oxygenated fluid through the kidney (called NRP), and the other uses the same method plus an additional oxygen treatment (HMPO2). The goal is to see if the extra treatment improves kidney function after transplant.

Kidney transplant study using machine perfusion

This study checks if pumping a special fluid through donor kidneys (machine perfusion) helps predict how well the kidney will work after transplant. It's for people getting a kidney from an older donor or one with some health issues.

Cold storage treatment for donated kidneys before transplant

This study tests a special cold storage solution and machine to keep donated kidneys healthy before they are transplanted. It may help the kidneys work better after surgery.

Heart transplant study comparing two types of heart storage

This trial tests whether using a different method to store a donated heart before transplant improves outcomes. It compares “non-ischemic preservation” versus standard cold storage for people getting a new heart.

Compare treatments for controlled donation after circulatory death

This trial compares different care approaches for adult donors in a specific type of controlled donation after the heart stops. It aims to find which approach best supports organ/tissue use after donation.

Kidney transplant test using machine perfusion outside the body

This study tests a special way to keep and treat a donated kidney using a machine before it’s transplanted. The goal is to improve transplant outcomes for certain people on the kidney transplant waiting list.

Kidney preservation with or without machine perfusion

This study compares two ways of preserving kidneys from older or less healthy donors before transplant – one using a machine that pumps fluid through the kidney, and one without. It may help improve how well these kidneys work after transplant.
