  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are being seen in the Albany Medical Center emergency room
  • You need an IV and have difficult-to-find veins due to at least one of the listed reasons (such as previous failed IV attempts, a history of dialysis or IV drug use, or a past need for a special IV device)
  • You are not pregnant, not a prisoner, and can speak English
  • You have a vein that can be seen with ultrasound in your arm or leg
  • You can give consent (or have someone who can) and are not in a situation that would delay urgent care
