This study is looking at specific immune cells (T cells) in the blood of people with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) to better understand the disease. If you have untreated AIH and meet certain criteria, you may be able to participate.

Who can take part

  • You must have a confirmed diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH).
  • You must have never been treated for AIH before.
  • You must have at least two of these: high liver enzymes (ALT > 2 times normal), high IgG ( > 1.1 times normal), specific autoantibodies, or interface hepatitis on liver biopsy.
  • You must not have HIV, hepatitis B, or active hepatitis C.
