Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 3 and 8 years old.
  • Your child must be having elective surgery or a procedure that requires general anesthesia.
  • The anesthesia will be started with a mask (inhalational induction).
  • The anesthesiologist has judged your child calm and cooperative enough to not need calming medicine beforehand.
  • Your child has not received any calming medicine (like dexmedetomidine or midazolam) before the study.
  • Your child does not have severe developmental, visual, or hearing impairments that would prevent playing the game or watching a video.
