Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have at least a primary school education and can read, write, and communicate well enough to fill out questionnaires on your own.
  • You are getting a PICC line for the first time, using a standard 4Fr single-lumen catheter.
  • You can come back to the same hospital for regular catheter maintenance appointments.
  • You do not have severe bleeding problems, are not on blood thinners, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and your BMI is at least 18.5.
  • You are not allergic to any parts of the PICC catheter.
