  • Between 18 and 75 years old
  • Able to read, write, and understand English well enough to complete questionnaires on your own
  • Getting a PICC catheter placed for the first time (a thin, flexible tube that goes into a vein in your arm)
  • Willing and able to come to the hospital regularly for catheter check-ups and maintenance after placement
  • No blood clotting disorders or very low platelet counts
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding
