Focused ultrasound for preventing chronic migraine

Chronic Migraine Headache

Part of Brain & nervous system clinical trials.

This study tests a low-intensity focused ultrasound treatment that targets a specific brain area to help prevent chronic migraines. It uses sound waves to gently stimulate the brain, and might reduce the number of migraine days you have.

  • You have had migraines for at least 1 year, and your migraines started when you were 50 or younger.
  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You are willing to keep a daily electronic headache diary for about a month before the study starts.

NCT07743814Not yet recruiting· Phase 3
Brain stimulation for chronic migraine prevention

This study tests whether a gentle brain-stimulation technique called tDCS (which uses a small electrical current on the scalp) can reduce how often you get migraines. If you're already on a preventive medication, this might add extra relief.

NCT07500558Recruiting
Ultrasound-guided nerve block for chronic migraine pain relief

This study tests two power levels of a pulsed radiofrequency treatment aimed at a nerve cluster behind your cheekbone to reduce chronic migraine pain. If you have frequent migraines that haven't responded well to two or more preventive medications, this could be an option for you.

NCT07214454Not yet recruiting
Mild electrical stimulation for chronic migraine

This trial is testing whether a gentle electrical current applied to the scalp can reduce headaches in people with chronic migraine. It uses a small, handheld device you control from your phone, and you would track your headaches in an app or paper diary.

NCT05792020Not yet recruiting
Focused ultrasound for healthy adults

Researchers are testing a new technology called transcranial focused ultrasound (tFUS) that uses sound waves to safely target brain areas. This study helps understand how tFUS affects the brain and may lead to new treatments for brain disorders.

Safety study using brain mapping with focused ultrasound

This study tests the safety of a brain stimulation approach that uses special brain recording and “focused ultrasound” targeted by brain signals. It is designed for healthy adults and checks whether the procedure is tolerated without serious side effects.
