Kidney cancer treatment preference study
Treatments studied
Part of Cancer, Kidney & urinary, Women’s health & pregnancy clinical trials.
This study looks at how kidney cancer patients feel about getting their treatment at home versus at the clinic, and asks their doctors for their views too. It is for patients already on certain standard treatments and aims to understand preferences that may improve care.

This study compares two ways to take immunotherapy drugs (nivolumab or pembrolizumab): as a shot under the skin (subcutaneous) versus an infusion into a vein (intravenous). It looks at which method patients prefer and is for people with certain advanced cancers where these drugs are already approved.
This trial tests a combination of two drugs (tivozanib and nivolumab) for people with advanced kidney cancer that is not clear cell type. It aims to see if this drug pair can shrink or slow the cancer.
This trial studies whether removing the kidney tumor (cytoreductive nephrectomy) before treatment can improve outcomes for people with metastatic clear-cell kidney cancer. All participants are expected to receive standard immunotherapy (nivolumab plus ipilimumab), and the study focuses on the role of surgery in the “immuno-oncology era.”
This study compares giving the immunotherapy drug nivolumab as a shot under the skin at home versus in the clinic. It is for people with certain cancers who are already taking or starting nivolumab.
This trial studies whether removing the kidney tumor with “deferred cytoreductive nephrectomy” (surgery at a later time) works best for people whose metastatic kidney cancer is already present. It compares a standard treatment approach using either immunotherapy (nivolumab/ipilimumab) or a targeted pill plus immunotherapy (TKI/IO), with planned surgery afterward.
This trial tests a new drug (BMS-986506) for people with advanced kidney cancer (clear cell renal cell carcinoma). It aims to see if the drug is safe and effective. Depending on the part of the study, participants may have had prior treatments or be newly diagnosed.
