Blood test for better pancreatic cancer diagnosis
Part of Cancer, Digestive system, Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.
This study looks for proteins in the blood that could help doctors tell the difference between pancreatic cancer and non-cancerous pancreatic conditions, such as chronic pancreatitis or benign cysts. By participating, you could help improve early and accurate diagnosis, which may lead to better outcomes for future patients.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You have been diagnosed with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (a common type of pancreatic cancer), chronic pancreatitis, or certain non-cancerous pancreatic cysts (IPMN or MCN).
- If you have pancreatic cancer, a biopsy (tissue sample) is required to confirm the diagnosis.
- Your non-cancerous pancreatic condition must be confirmed by imaging tests or by a follow-up of at least one year.
- You have not started cancer treatment (such as chemotherapy or surgery to remove the tumor) before providing a blood sample.

This study is testing a new blood test to find pancreatic cancer early. It looks for tiny bits of cancer DNA floating in your blood, which could help catch the disease before symptoms start.
This study uses a blood test to look at how your immune system responds, which may help tell if chronic pancreatitis could turn into pancreatic cancer. It aims to find better ways to monitor people with chronic pancreatitis and catch cancer earlier.
This study looks at blood markers and gut bacteria to better understand the risk of pancreatic cancer in people with chronic pancreatitis (long-term pancreas inflammation). It may help detect cancer earlier or guide prevention.
This trial studies a blood test to find pancreatic cancer early. It may help people who are at risk or have suspicious signs.
This study uses stored blood samples from people at higher risk for pancreatic cancer (due to family history or certain pancreatic cysts) to see if a simple blood test can detect the disease early or help monitor it over time.
