Comparing two muscle-cutting methods for achalasia treatment
This study compares two ways of doing a surgery called POEM to treat achalasia, a condition where the esophagus doesn't empty properly. The surgery cuts the muscle at the lower end of the esophagus to help food pass more easily. The trial will see if cutting the muscle partially works as well as cutting it all the way through.
