Tracking drainage from chronic leg or foot ulcers with a dressing
This study follows how much fluid (drainage) a chronic ulcer produces over time using a dressing called Mepilex Up. It may help clinicians better understand how this dressing manages “exuding” ulcers on the leg or foot.
Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaAges 18 years+ - NCT05608317Recruiting
Track healing of draining leg ulcers with a foam dressing
This study follows how a non-bordered foam dressing helps chronic leg ulcers that leak fluid (exuding). It mainly aims to see how the wound changes over time, and whether the dressing is comfortable and effective along with standard care.
Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaAges 18 years+ - NCT06697925Recruiting
Venous leg ulcer closure durability study
This trial checks how long the closure of a venous leg ulcer lasts after healing. It is only for people who already took part in an earlier study (THOR trial) and had their ulcer fully close within 12 weeks.
Monroeville, PennsylvaniaAges 18 years+ - NCT06693570RecruitingPhase 4
Fish skin graft for hard-to-heal leg ulcers
This trial tests whether applying a special fish skin graft, along with standard compression therapy, helps heal leg ulcers caused by poor vein function (venous leg ulcers) that have not healed with standard care alone. If you have a nonhealing venous leg ulcer, this study may offer a new treatment option.

Advanced wound treatments for diabetic foot and leg ulcers
This study compares several advanced wound treatments (called CAMPs) plus standard care to standard care alone for hard-to-heal diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers. It aims to see if the extra treatments help wounds close faster and prevent complications.

What taking part in a venous leg ulcer study involves
A screening visit first
Before anything else, the study team checks whether you fit — usually a visit with some tests. You can stop at any point, and screening is typically free.
Care at a nearby site
Study visits happen at a clinic or hospital taking part. Many studies cover the cost of the study treatment and related visits, and some reimburse travel.
You stay in control
Taking part is voluntary and you can leave a study at any time, for any reason, without affecting your regular care.
The team decides eligibility
Our fit check is a helpful first read, not a decision. The study team makes the final call after reviewing your health history.
