Donate lung samples to help future lung and airway research

Leukocyte DisordersRespiratory Tract DiseasesBronchoscopy

Part of Blood & lymphatic, Lungs & breathing clinical trials.

This study collects lung fluid and tissue (and sometimes nasal or breath samples) to store for future research. It aims to understand lung and airway biology, and you may help by donating samples during a short procedure.

Blood and tissue collection study for several lung and chest cancers

This study collects tissue (and follows patients over time) to better understand the natural course of several types of chest cancers. It may help researchers learn which tests and treatments work best in different cancer types.

Collecting lung tissue samples for research

This study collects leftover lung tissue or biopsy samples from surgeries or bronchoscopies to create a biobank for future research. It may help researchers understand lung diseases better, but you won't receive any direct treatment from participating.

Donating breath, blood, and urine samples for lung research

This study collects airway samples (usually during a bronchoscopy), plus blood and/or urine, to help researchers study lung conditions. It may help advance understanding of lung disease and related biology, but it is not a treatment trial.

Donate blood samples for a lung disease research biobank

This study builds a “biobank,” a storage of blood and related samples, from people with lung interstitial lung diseases or other lung scarring diseases. Your samples help researchers study these conditions and improve future care.

Studying natural immunity in COPD and in healthy adults

This study looks at how the body’s “innate” (first-line) immune system works in people with COPD compared with healthy volunteers. It may help researchers understand COPD inflammation and how immune responses could be targeted in the future.

Breathing study for children needing bronchoscopy

This study collects samples (like fluid from the lungs) during a planned bronchoscopy to look for new ways to understand and predict children's breathing problems. It might help if your child already needs this procedure for a medical reason.
