Who can take part
- You (or your child) live in Ouelessebougou for at least one year before enrollment
- You are either pregnant (age 15–45), a newborn from that pregnancy, or a child age 3 or younger
- OR you are a child age 0–10 with fever, either admitted to the hospital or seen as an outpatient in the study area
- OR you are a pregnant person age 15–25 in Ouelessebougou/Gabriel Toure Hospital area, including specific preeclampsia case/control needs
- You (or your child’s parent/guardian) understand the study and agree to participate and allow sample storage
- You do not have a serious long-term illness besides malaria (based on exam/history)
