Who can take part

  • You see a rheumatologist (autoimmune joint/immune specialist) at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS)
  • Your blood test shows an autoantibody (like a positive ANA or others) on at least 2 different tests
  • Those two positive tests must be at least 12 weeks apart
  • You have symptoms that can happen in connective tissue diseases (for example, joint pain, rash, dry eyes/mouth, mouth sores, lung/heart lining symptoms, or numbness)
  • You do not already meet clear diagnoses such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, or antiphospholipid syndrome
