Who can take part

  • You have been newly diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML)
  • You can safely have an MRI (no MRI contraindications) and have no allergy to MRI contrast
  • You are not able to start scans if your claustrophobia is hard to control
  • You have had only minimal prior leukemia treatment (for example, leukapheresis, hydroxyurea, or limited cytarabine—more than that may disqualify)
  • You do not have secondary or relapsed AML, and you do not have acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL)
  • You are not pregnant, are 18+ years old, and weigh 400 pounds or less
