Who can take part
- You are age 18 or older and are scheduled for pancreatic surgery (pancreaticoduodenectomy or partial/complete pancreatectomy with ampullectomy).
- Your diagnosis is one of these without an invasive cancer part: ductal adenocarcinoma, IPMN, or pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor, or another benign pancreatic disease.
- There is no metastatic cancer and your doctor believes the tumor can be fully removed with surgery.
- In the last 6 months before joining: for the first two parts, you did not receive chemotherapy or radiation for this pancreatic condition; for the third part, you did not receive radiation for this condition.
- In the last week before surgery you did not take anti-platelet medicines other than aspirin, and you do not have bleeding/clotting problems (for example very high INR, clotting-factor deficiency, or a condition that makes clots likely).
