This study collects small tissue samples from people who already need an endoscopy (EGD) and/or surgery for esophagus or stomach-related problems. The goal is to help researchers learn more about gastroesophageal cancers and related conditions.

Who can take part
- You have an esophagus and/or stomach cancer, or GERD (acid reflux), with or without Barrett’s esophagus
- You are scheduled to have an EGD (a camera test through the mouth) and/or surgery as part of routine care
- You are well enough to safely undergo the planned EGD and/or surgery
- Your care team expects you to be able to tolerate these procedures during this study
