Who can take part

  • You have either monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (MGUS) or smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM).
  • For MGUS: your monoclonal protein is below thresholds and your bone marrow plasma cell percentage is under 10%, and you do not have myeloma- or amyloidosis-related events.
  • For SMM: your monoclonal protein and/or bone marrow plasma cell percentage is at intermediate levels, and you do not have myeloma- or amyloidosis-related events.
  • Your blood tests and scans do not show “myeloma-defining” problems (like certain kidney, blood, bone, calcium, or high light-chain findings, or many/big spots on MRI).
  • You have not had chemotherapy or investigational medicines for these early conditions (bisphosphonates are allowed; radiotherapy is not).
  • You can attend visits and have no uncontrolled ongoing illness (like an active infection) that would make follow-up hard.
