Who can take part
- You have ongoing or past lung symptoms such as cough, fatigue, fever, weight loss, shortness of breath, or coughing blood
- Your recent chest imaging (within 2 years) shows bronchiectasis or related lung changes (like thickened airways or small nodules/cavities)
- If you’re in the NTM group: your lab tests show NTM in lung samples (two sputum samples or one bronchoscopy sample/biopsy)
- If you’re in the control group: your lab tests show no NTM (less than two negative sputum samples or negative bronchoscopy sample/biopsy)
- You did not start oral antibiotics or oral steroids within the last month
- You can have extra breathing tests and procedures safely (for some parts): your lung function is not too low and you don’t have major medical conditions listed in screening
