Who can take part

  • You are an adult (18 or older) and can sign a consent form
  • You have ongoing (chronic) hepatitis B infection based on blood tests
  • If you could become pregnant, you must use reliable birth control during the study
  • You have liver tests that are not too abnormal (transaminases must be under 5× the normal limit)
  • You must not have had a severe allergic reaction to a hepatitis B vaccine
  • You should not join another drug/medicine trial in the past 30 days
