Who can take part
- Your child is between 4 months and up to 24 months old at the time of surgery
- Your child has a diagnosis of developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH)
- Your child is scheduled for hip reduction surgery (closed or open) and spica casting because treatment with non-surgery methods failed or is not appropriate for their age
- A parent or guardian can give permission for the study, and the child can agree if asked
- Your child is not having surgery after 24 months of age
- Your child has not had a previous open hip surgery on the affected side
